Privacy Policy
Beattier ("the app", "we") is a music rating and social journaling app. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and what your choices are. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't run ads, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't sell your data.
Who we are
Beattier is operated by its developer, based in Iceland. For anything privacy-related, contact berg@beattier.com.
What we collect
- Account information. You sign in with Apple. We receive your Apple account identifier and the name and email address you choose to share (Apple lets you hide your real email). You also choose a username and optional display name, bio, and avatar photo.
- Your content. The ratings, reviews, posts, comments, statuses, tags, and library entries you create in the app.
- Notifications. If you enable push notifications, we store your device push token so we can deliver them.
- Preferences. App settings you choose (such as rating precision and theme), synced so they follow your account.
We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers, and the app contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
What's public
Beattier is a social app. Your profile (username, display name, bio, avatar), your ratings, reviews, posts, comments, and your music library are visible to other Beattier users. Don't put anything in them you wouldn't want other users to see.
Why we process your data
- To provide the service: storing and syncing your library, showing your posts to other users, delivering notifications (performance of our contract with you).
- To keep the community safe: handling reports, blocks, and moderation (our legitimate interest in a safe service).
Where your data lives
Your data is stored with our hosting provider Supabase on servers located in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). When you search for music, the app queries Apple's iTunes Search API and Spotify's catalog API; those requests carry your search terms but no account information.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of service providers to run the app: Supabase (database, authentication, and storage hosting) and Apple (Sign in with Apple, push notification delivery). They process data only on our behalf. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
Your data is kept for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: it removes your profile, content, library, notifications, uploaded files, and sign-in record from our servers. Ratings stored locally on your own device stay on your device.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, ask us to restrict or object to processing, and request a copy of your data in a portable format. Most of this you can do directly in the app; for anything else, email berg@beattier.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Iceland, that is Persónuvernd (personuvernd.is).
Children
Beattier is not directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Meaningful changes will be announced in the app.
